Advancements in solar cell technology were presented through a stage session at 2026 Green Energy Expo, held from April 22 to 24, 2026, at EXCO. The session focused on high-efficiency photovoltaic cell development and large-scale manufacturing capabilities.
At the exhibition, Tongwei Solar participated for the first time and delivered a technical presentation titled “Introduction to Tongwei TNC High-Efficiency Cell Products” on April 23. The session covered product architecture, mass production readiness, and application potential of its TNC series.
Xiao Feng, Senior Engineer of Overseas Customer Service at the Platform Quality Department, explained the development path from TNC 1.0 to TNC 3.0. The presentation outlined how each generation has evolved in terms of efficiency, output performance, and structural design.
TNC 1.0 represents the initial stage of Tongwei’s N-type cell platform, focusing on establishing stable mass production. TNC 2.0 introduced half-cut cell architecture to improve efficiency and module compatibility, enhancing overall output performance.
The latest TNC 3.0 quarter-cut product was highlighted as a further step in performance refinement. By applying a more segmented cell structure, the design reduces power loss and improves output at the module level. According to the presentation, the product enables over 10 W module-level power gain, a 5% increase in bifaciality, and conversion efficiency exceeding 26.3%.
Xiao Feng stated, “The TNC series is built on a mature mass production platform and is designed to maintain stable performance across various operating conditions.” She added, “The focus is not only on efficiency but also on maintaining consistent performance and adaptability in real-world applications.”
Beyond product performance, Tongwei also presented its manufacturing and quality control framework. The company operates automated production systems and applies a “cell-level tracking” approach to monitor production data and maintain product consistency throughout the process.
Support for overseas markets was also addressed. Tongwei provides technical consulting, on-site assistance, and process optimization services to support customers during system deployment and operation.
The presentation emphasized that solar cell development is no longer limited to efficiency metrics alone, but increasingly involves output stability, manufacturing scalability, and application adaptability. Structural innovation at the cell level is directly linked to performance improvements at the module level.
Tongwei Solar indicated that it will continue to advance the TNC series based on market demand, expanding both performance capabilities and application potential.
At the 2026 Green Energy Expo, Tongwei Solar presented a direction centered on high-efficiency cell technology, supported by mass production capability and integrated quality management across the product lifecycle.
