[ME2026] Woojin Plaimm Showcases Integrated Injection Molding, Foaming and Automation Solutions, Strengthens Presence in Thailand

As Southeast Asian manufacturers continue to pursue higher productivity and smarter factory operations, integrated production systems combining injection molding and automation technologies are drawing increasing attention across the region.

Against this backdrop, Woojin Plaimm participated in Manufacturing Expo 2026 (ME2026), held from June 17 to 20 at the BITEC Exhibition Center in Bangkok, Thailand, where the company presented a range of injection molding and automation solutions designed to address evolving manufacturing requirements.

Manufacturing Expo 2026 brought together seven co-located industrial exhibitions, including InterPlas Thailand 2026, InterMold Thailand 2026, Automotive Manufacturing 2026, Surface & Coatings 2026, NEPCON Thailand 2026, Assembly & Automation 2026, and FACTECH 2026.

At the exhibition, Woojin Plaimm showcased its DL450G5 injection molding machine, TL300A5-2K-W multi-component molding system, and WABOT automation robot, demonstrating how molding and automation technologies can be integrated into a single production workflow.

The DL450G5 is a two-platen direct-clamping injection molding machine developed to improve molding stability and energy efficiency. During the exhibition, the machine produced mid-shell components, demonstrating its applicability across various industries, including automotive, consumer products, and home appliances.

Another major exhibit was the TL300A5-2K-W tie-bar-less multi-shot injection molding machine. The system demonstrated Woojin Plaimm’s Clean Foam molding process, a low-pressure physical foaming technology that creates a solid outer surface while forming a microcellular foamed structure inside the product.

This manufacturing approach enables material reduction and lightweight product design while maintaining structural integrity and product quality. At the exhibition, the system produced foamed trays in real time, allowing visitors to observe the process and evaluate potential industrial applications.

Yoo Jae-hoon, Country Manager of Woojin Plaimm Thailand, noted that demand for lightweight manufacturing technologies is expanding across Southeast Asia.

“Interest in environmentally conscious materials and lightweight production methods continues to grow throughout the region,” Yoo said. “Foaming technologies are increasingly being evaluated for their ability to improve material efficiency while supporting a wide range of industrial applications.”

Automation was another central focus of Woojin Plaimm’s presentation.

The company’s WABOT robot, jointly developed with an Austrian research organization, was displayed alongside the injection molding machines. Available in gear-driven, belt-driven, and high-speed configurations, WABOT is designed specifically for integration with injection molding systems.

By combining molding equipment and robotic automation within a unified production environment, manufacturers can improve process consistency and streamline repetitive production tasks.

Visitors were able to observe a fully integrated workflow in which molded products were automatically handled by the robotic system immediately after production.

A notable moment during the exhibition occurred when Varawut Silpa-archa, Thailand’s Minister of Industry, visited the Woojin Plaimm booth as part of an official VIP technology tour organized during the event.

The minister reviewed live demonstrations of both the DL450G5 and TL300A5-2K-W systems and received an overview of the WABOT automation platform. Discussions focused on manufacturing modernization, industrial automation trends, and practical applications of injection molding technologies within Thailand’s industrial sector.

The visit formed part of a broader government initiative aimed at identifying technologies capable of supporting Thailand’s manufacturing competitiveness and digital transformation agenda.

During the meeting, Woojin Plaimm also introduced its regional business strategy and customer support activities across Southeast Asia.

“Automation is increasingly becoming a fundamental requirement rather than an optional investment for manufacturers,” Yoo explained. “Integrated operation of injection molding equipment and robotic systems is becoming increasingly important for quality management, process standardization, and production efficiency.”

Woojin Plaimm views Thailand as one of its key strategic markets in Southeast Asia and continues to strengthen local technical support and customer service capabilities.

“Thailand plays an important role within global manufacturing supply chains, and industrial upgrading is progressing rapidly,” Yoo said. “We plan to continue expanding the supply of injection molding and automation solutions that align with local manufacturing needs and industrial development trends.”

Through its participation at Manufacturing Expo 2026, Woojin Plaimm presented a manufacturing framework that connects injection molding, foaming technology, and robotic automation. As manufacturers across Southeast Asia continue to invest in productivity improvement and process optimization, integrated production technologies are expected to play an increasingly significant role in future factory operations.
