BANGKOK, Thailand – Held from June 17 to 20 at the BITEC Exhibition Center in Bangkok, Manufacturing Expo 2026 (ME2026) brought together seven specialized industrial exhibitions, highlighting the latest developments across ASEAN's manufacturing sector. Organized by RX BITEC, the event featured InterPlas Thailand 2026, InterMold Thailand 2026, Automotive Manufacturing 2026, Surface & Coatings 2026, NEPCON Thailand 2026, Assembly & Automation 2026, and FACTECH 2026, covering a broad spectrum of manufacturing technologies and industrial solutions.

During the exhibition, Veraporn Dhamcharee, Managing Director of RX BITEC, shared her perspective on Thailand's manufacturing landscape, the role of Manufacturing Expo, and the growing participation of Korean companies in the ASEAN market.

Seven Specialized Exhibitions Under One Manufacturing Platform
Veraporn explained that Manufacturing Expo is not a single exhibition but an integrated platform comprising seven industry-focused trade shows.

"Some of these exhibitions have been running for more than 30 years," she said. "Together, they cover plastics processing, mold and die technologies, electronics manufacturing, automotive production, automation and robotics system integration, surface treatment and coatings, metrology, and factory management technologies."

She added that FACTECH, the newest addition to the portfolio, focuses on facility management, energy management, waste management, artificial intelligence, and cloud technologies, reflecting the evolving needs of modern manufacturing.

According to Veraporn, all seven exhibitions are designed to introduce industry-specific innovations while showcasing technologies that will shape the future of manufacturing.

Government Support Continues to Drive Thailand's Manufacturing Growth
Asked about Thailand's position as one of ASEAN's leading manufacturing hubs, Veraporn identified government policy as the country's primary growth driver.

"Thailand has long been recognized as the 'Detroit of Asia,'" she said. "Automotive manufacturing continues to be one of our strongest industries, producing passenger cars, pickup trucks, motorcycles, and commercial vehicles."

While conventional internal combustion engine vehicles remain important, she noted that electric vehicles (EVs) and new-energy vehicles (NEVs) have become the fastest-growing segments.

"The Thai government and the Board of Investment (BOI) continue to introduce investment policies that encourage global automakers to expand EV production in Thailand," she explained. "Today, the automotive sector accounts for nearly one-third of Thailand's industrial GDP."

She also pointed to several other industries experiencing rapid expansion.

"Food manufacturing is creating increasing demand for advanced machinery, automation, robotics, and system integration," she said. "Medical products and aerospace manufacturing are also growing quickly, particularly as Thailand strengthens its capabilities in aircraft parts production and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO)."

Korean Exhibitors Continue to Receive Strong Recognition
Approximately 47 Korean companies participated in Manufacturing Expo 2026.

Although a detailed post-show survey will be conducted after the exhibition, Veraporn said the overall response from Thai buyers was already evident.

"Thai visitors and buyers have consistently welcomed Korean exhibitors," she said. "Korean technology is widely recognized as advanced, and Korean brands enjoy a high level of trust."

She added that Korean exhibitors continue to attract significant visitor attention at Manufacturing Expo.

"Many visitors specifically seek opportunities to speak with Korean companies because they have confidence in the technology and reliability behind Korean products," she explained. "Korean exhibitors remain among the most recognized participants at the exhibition."

Expanding Manufacturing Expo's Role Across ASEAN
Beyond serving Thailand's domestic manufacturing industry, Veraporn emphasized that Manufacturing Expo has become an important platform connecting manufacturers throughout ASEAN.

"This year we have welcomed participants from around 80 countries," she said. "The largest participation continues to come from Asian economies, including Thailand, Japan, China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Korea."

She also noted growing participation from India, Bangladesh, and several Middle Eastern countries as manufacturing investment expands across those regions.

"Manufacturing Expo is not only a platform for Thailand but also a gateway for ASEAN manufacturing," she said. "Companies come here to introduce new technologies, establish business partnerships, and explore new market opportunities."

Looking ahead, she encouraged more Korean manufacturers to utilize the exhibition as part of their regional growth strategy.

"We hope to see more Korean companies use Manufacturing Expo as a strategic platform to strengthen their presence across ASEAN and Asia," Veraporn said. "Our role is to connect exhibitors with the right buyers and continue creating meaningful business opportunities for all participants."
