동유럽에서 독일 기업을 사칭해 무역사기를 시도하는 사례가 발생하고 있다. 이메일 해킹이나 공문서 위조 등 사기수법 또한 과거보다 정교해지고 있다는 지적이다.
매월 평균 5~7건의 바이어 조사 의뢰 요청 건 중 대부분이 사기업체로 판명 되면서 이에대한 경각심이 요구되고 있다.
대표적인 무역사기 유형 으로는 Alibaba, tradekorea, EC 21, Buykorea와 같은 B2B 사이트를 통한 사기 시도 다.
관심 품목과 제품을 명시하지 않은채 무작위로 미끼 메일을 발송하고 있는 실정이다.
KOTRA 함부르크 무역관은 이 같은 미끼 메일을 받을 경우, 스팸 처리해야 하며 첨부파일을 절대 열면 안 된다고 강조했다.

독일 기업 사칭 사기 시도
독일의 폐업 회사 혹은 실재하는 소규모 회사를 사칭한 케이스의 경우 독일 등기소 사이트에 사업자 번호(Handelsregisternummer)로 조회 시 존재하는 업체로 확인된다는 점을 노린 범죄다.
소규모 회사를 사칭하는 경우 회사 이메일 주소와 바이어를 사칭한 사람의 이메일 주소가 일치하지 않는 점을 알수 있다. 독일 대부분의 회사가 회사명을 이메일 주소로 사용, 소규모 업체에서 t-online.degmx.de, gmail.com을 사용하는 경우가 있으나, 이와 같은 경우 더욱 주의를 기울여야 한다.
바이어의 홈페이지가 독일어와 영어로 돼 있지 않고 영어로만 표기되어 있으며, 사이트 형식이 일반회사에서 사용하는 형식과 맞지 않으며 조잡하다.
실존하는 회사 이름을 교묘하게 변경해 사기에 이용하는 것으로 KOTRA GmbH가 실재 회사인 경우 KOTRAS GmbH와 같이 교묘하게 바꾸어 사용한다.

#. 해킹을 이용한 사기 시도
해킹용 미끼 메일 발송한 뒤, 특정 사이트에 접속하거나 첨부파일을 열도록 유도한다.
